And I did all this while wearing Simplicity 3835.
Truth be told, once I got home and the weather got warmer I changed out of these clothes into a light summer dress for our afternoon of eating and relaxing (shhh, don't tell anyone I cheated).
My new obsession...homemade ice cream sandwiches... |
This tunic, made from Simplicity 2934, happened to be the perfect outfit for these activities. It's made from a soft cotton jersey and the tunic is basically a glorified nightgown. I think it's actually supposed to be worn as a dress but it's inappropriately short on me so I usually only break it out on vacation as a swimsuit coverup. Everybody who's been saved from looking at underwear can thank me later.
I love that top/dress. I think I'm going to start sewing for myself. It's just so much easier to sew for the kids. Uses less yardage, fit really isn't an issue and bizarre fabric combinations are o.k.
ReplyDeleteI love that pic of O with the corn. I wish my kids would eat corn.
ReplyDeleteLove that tunic! Seems like a tough pattern to do with jersey.
ReplyDeletei am soooo in love with that tunic! i see simplicity 2934 in my very very very near future!
ReplyDeleteI am loving these posts:) I am getting to see heaps of clothes that have been made and what they actually look like on - you dont get a really great idea from the pictures on the front of a pattern.
ReplyDeleteHope that you are on the mend too.
Will you please stop looking good in everything you wear? You would make a potato sack look good, woman!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you don't feel well, that tunic looks really cute if that's any consolation. I want one of those ice cream sandwiches so bad, they look delicious!
ReplyDeleteSun and then even warmer weather? No wonder you were sick the next day. Do hope that you felt better quickly. And look at you even on a not so feeling well day you went on with the challenge. You rock!
