But every once in a while we manage to finish a project (even if it's a year late). And this just happens to be one of those times.
Now I will say, that this project pales in comparison to the home renovation projects that you see on other amazing blogs, but for us, this took a lot of effort, so I'm going to gloat all the same.
But now let's get to the fun part, right? The before and after pics.
Here's the before. Nasty yellow walls and original cabinets in all their glory.
Floor decorations compliments of our child |
And just to give you a little perspective - look how teeny-tiny O was back when we started (uh, that's embarrassing!)
And the after pics. With a little fresh paint on the walls and the cabinets. And some new little knobs too.
Please ignore the overflowing dish rack and whatever random crap is on the counter. |
And look! I sewed a teeny-tiny curtain!
If I were rich and motivated, oh, how I would love new counter tops. But considering that I am neither, I think that this is just going to have to do for the time being.
LOVE how this turned out. I've been trying to convince the hubs to let me paint the cabinets, but it's not working. Yours look so great.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I know how f*ing hard it is to paint kitchen cabinets even installing the handles is a major pain in the a** but what a crazy difference! It looks great! You should gloat like crazy!
ReplyDeleteLooks fantastic! What an epic project to get done.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! Bet that feels good before baby #2 comes along! You guys are on a roll.
ReplyDeleteLooks great! :)
ReplyDeleteThat looks approximately one kajillion times better.
ReplyDeleteWow - the difference in amazing! It looks totally new! And O is sooo cute. Can she come and live at my house? (you know me by now - I'm only joking!)
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing what a little paint can do; great job!
ReplyDeleteYahoo, that looks great! Love the white cabinets and love the handles even more! :-)
ReplyDeleteThey look amazing! Would you share the deets? I painted my oak cabinets white last year and they do not look that good! What kind of paint did you use, foam or brush, sealer? Sorry for all the questions, I'm determined to have beautiful cabinets too. LOL!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I love white cabinets in kitchens. I would love to have the time and money to update my kitchen. Currently we have cabinets that look like your old ones and hideous orangey brown backsplash. Yuck.
ReplyDeleteHow about new LOOKING countertops? Have you looked into the Rustoleum countertop refinishing product. The before and after shots on the site are seriously impressive. We used the cabinet refinishing product and no one can believe we refinished our cabinets ourselves for $75!
ReplyDeleteIt looks good!
ReplyDeleteOkay, my comment was lost in cyberspace apparently. I hate that! It looks absolutely amazing. You must be so stoked as it really does give your space a completely different look. We are not house DIYers as I had hoped we would be and we're in desperate need of this sort of thing. Totally impressed that you pulled it off.
ReplyDeleteSo nice and fresh and clean! Totally worth the wait :)
ReplyDeleteLooks awesome! I really love those drawer pulls.
ReplyDeleteA huge improvement! This is on my personal to-do list too. But how on earth do you completely redo your kitchen with a toddler running around? The mind reels just to contemplate the logistics. Any tips?
ReplyDeleterich and social worker do not go hand in hand! i love the remodel. it looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love the way the cabinets were completely transformed with paint and new handles!! It's a fantastic kitchen and you did an awesome job. Good going!
